Software Engineering Team Lead (Hybrid Role)

Our client, a market leader in the sports betting and gaming group operating in the online sector, is seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead to guide a talented team of 8 developers (4 frontend and 4 backend) in a hybrid working environment. Job Brief:

As the Software Engineering Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing development teams, focusing on strategy, planning, and execution of software development projects. Your goal will be to drive your team towards achieving their goals while measuring team velocity, identifying bottlenecks, and fostering technical evolution. Working closely with Product and Operations teams, you will be the main technical reference, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software on time.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Training & Mentoring: Provide technical and functional training to new employees/developers, including mentoring for professional development.
  • System Architecture & Technology Evaluation: Participate in defining system architecture, evaluating technologies, and staying abreast of new trends.
  • Project Management: Take responsibility for projects, collaborating with the Product Owner (PO) to define priorities, monitor tasks, and ensure final product delivery.
  • Task Analysis & Technical Definition: Assist in the analysis and functional and technical definition of activities for the development team.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor task progress and address any impediments to development.
  • Project Control Tools: Utilize "JIRA" or similar tools for project control.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality contributions from team members.
  • Development: Develop systems primarily using ".NET" languages.
  • Test Driven Development: Implement Test Driven Development (TDD) with unit tests.
  • Code Versioning: Manage code versioning using GIT and adhere to the Branch Scheme of projects.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in programming .NET applications.
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL.
  • Experience in system administration, mainly Windows systems.
  • Excellent English skills, both spoken and written.
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience as a Team Lead in software development projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks.
