Our client is an international logistics and supply chain company expanding its financial shared services operations in Sofia. They are looking for an Accounts Payable (AP) Manager who is highly specialized, independent, and capable of building and leading a team almost from scratch.
This is a senior management role, ideal for someone who has deep expertise in AP, thrives in a shared services (SSC) environment, and can confidently represent the finance function in front of senior international management.
Build, lead, and develop the Accounts Payable team within a shared services setup.
Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice processing, vendor payments, expense claims, and reconciliations.
Design and implement AP policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities.
Deliver clear and accurate reporting on AP KPIs, vendor balances, and payment performance.
Manage escalations and complex vendor issues with professionalism.
Work independently and present confidently to senior management abroad.
Drive process efficiency through automation, ERP optimization, and standardization.
Collaborate across procurement, supply chain, and finance to support smooth operations.
10+ years of finance experience, with 5+ years in Accounts Payable management.
Proven track record in building and fully managing AP teams, preferably in SSC or multinational organizations.
Strong specialization in AP processes (invoice workflow, vendor payments, reconciliations, accruals).
Independent and self-driven, with the ability to set up and run AP operations with minimal oversight.
Advanced ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
Excellent Excel and data reporting skills.
Fluent English (spoken and written), able to present to higher-level management confidently.
Experience in setting up new SSC teams or functions.
Background in logistics, supply chain, or multinational finance operations.
Familiarity with automation tools (Concur, Coupa, Tipalti, etc.).
