Senior Manager, Finance Operations (AP/AR) – Shared Services

About the Company

Our client is an international logistics and supply chain group expanding its Finance Shared Services Center in Sofia. The center will support accounting activities for more than 100 legal entities across Europe and beyond.

They are hiring a Senior Manager to lead and scale either the Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable function. This is a high-impact role for someone who understands accounting in depth and can build processes, teams, and structure rapidly in a growing Shared Services environment.

This position is suited for a finance professional who can lead transformation, design workflows, and ensure standardization across multiple countries.


Key Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and scale the AP or AR function within the Shared Services Center
• Standardize accounting processes across 100+ entities
• Set up procedures, internal controls, and KPIs to support group-wide alignment
• Lead the rapid expansion of the finance team as additional entities transition into the SSC
• Manage end-to-end AP or AR operations, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery
• Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives
• Support onboarding of new countries and finance operations into the SSC
• Partner with Group Finance in Denmark and internal stakeholders
• Present financial KPIs, operational metrics, and process updates to senior management
• Recruit, train, and develop team members as the SSC grows
• Oversee compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and tax-related requirements


Requirements

Solid experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable within a Shared Services or multinational environment
• Proven ability to manage and scale finance teams (10–20+ people)
• Experience building or centralizing finance processes (AP, AR, or both)
• Strong understanding of accounting controls, service delivery, KPIs, and month-end processes
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or similar platforms
• Strong English, both written and spoken
• Confident communicator capable of presenting to senior international leaders
• Ability to operate independently and structure processes from the ground up


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Shared Services transformation or finance process migrations
• Exposure to automation tools (OCR, Concur, Coupa, Clarivos, etc.)
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or high-volume transactional environments
