Senior Internal Compliance Auditor / Sofia

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute internal audits focused on regulatory compliance, internal controls, and operational risk.

Conduct risk assessments, stakeholder interviews, and process walkthroughs to identify key compliance risks.

Assess internal control frameworks against MiFID II, ESMA, GDPR, MiCA, and other applicable standards.

Draft and present clear, actionable audit reports to senior stakeholders and leadership.

Monitor changes in regulation and proactively adjust audit focus and controls.

Oversee fieldwork and ensure audit quality aligns with international standards and internal methodologies.

Support junior auditors with subject-matter guidance and promote audit best practices.

Participate in compliance-driven projects, system enhancements, and cross-functional initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in internal or external audit, regulatory compliance, or risk management.

Background in financial services, fintech, or regulated institutions is preferred.

Strong understanding of EU compliance frameworks: MiFID II, ESMA, GDPR. MiCA experience is a plus.

Excellent written and spoken English (C1+).

Experience in drafting audit reports and interacting with senior leadership.

Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive.

Professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, ICA, or CRCM are an advantage.
