Resort GM / Complex General Manager

 

The resort combines traditional hospitality operations with the management of company-owned and privately owned apartments. The incoming General Manager will take overall responsibility for resort operations, commercial performance, guest experience, owner relations and team development.

This is a year-round, hands-on leadership position for an experienced hotel or resort operator who can build strong teams, establish effective systems and improve the overall performance of the property.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the resort.
  • Manage reception, reservations, housekeeping, maintenance, security, food and beverage and property management.
  • Recruit, train and develop department heads and operational staff.
  • Build a reliable management team and strengthen communication between departments.
  • Establish and maintain SOPs, reporting systems and quality-control procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of guest service and communication with apartment owners.
  • Prepare operational budgets and control costs.
  • Report regularly to ownership on performance and key operational indicators.
  • Oversee reservations, pricing, OTAs, distribution channels and revenue performance.
  • Develop relationships with tour operators and external commercial partners.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, preventive maintenance, health and safety and property upkeep.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly and maintain efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Support the continued development of the resort ahead of future seasons.

Candidate profile

We are looking for a senior hospitality professional with:

  • At least 5 years of senior operational management experience within a hotel, resort or aparthotel.
  • Previous responsibility for an entire property is strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience across hotel operations, reservations, guest service, revenue management and financial control.
  • Proven experience managing substantial teams and developing department managers.
  • Experience with both hospitality operations and property or apartment management is an advantage.
  • Experience working with individual apartment owners would be valuable.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience with budgeting, cost control and reporting.
  • Experience developing SOPs and operational procedures.
  • A strong professional network within hospitality, tourism, suppliers and recruitment is an advantage.
  • International hotel or resort experience is highly valued, including experience in the Middle East or other international markets.
  • A degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration or a related field is preferred, although substantial relevant management experience will also be considered.

Languages

  • Fluent Bulgarian is required.
  • Strong English is required.
  • Greek, Russian or other languages would be an advantage.

Systems knowledge

Candidates should be comfortable working with:

  • Property Management Systems
  • Booking and reservation systems
  • Channel managers
  • OTAs
  • Point of Sale systems
  • Microsoft Office
  • Management reporting tools

Experience with Clock PMS is particularly valuable. Experience with Opera, Mews, Cloudbeds, Fidelio or similar systems is also relevant.

Team and operation

The resort operates year-round.

  • Approximately 20 employees during the off-season
  • Approximately 48 employees during peak season
  • The General Manager will have substantial involvement in building and developing the management team
